More Movie Making Success

Following on from their success last year, Daisy Thor-Poet, Ming Thor-Poet and Katherine Millis (all of Year 10) have won the national Kid Witness News (KWN) short film competition run by Panasonic, and will travel to Vietnam to the Asia/Oceania finals. Winners from there will then travel to London for the global finals.

Words from the Wise

Recently, we entered a movie competition along with 240 other entries from New Zealand students. Our film has been chosen to compete in the Oceania section of the competition. This means that two of us will be flying to Vietnam for the regional finals to compete in the world competition.

The criteria for the movie as a five-minute film on the theme of communication. The film “Forever Emily” is based on the subject of teenage grief and the feelings and stages that people go through to come to an acceptance of death.

We are very pleased with our result and are excited about going to Vietnam to compete in the world competition.
