Megan completed both primary and secondary school here in Wanaka so has seen big changed in the college. She is pleased to be back at MAC in her second year as head ESOL teacher. Until her return to Wanaka in 2003, she had been living abroad in a number of foreign cultures for many years, and as a teenager, prior to which she spent time in Japan as an exchange student.
Her life experiences and many years of teaching have equiped her well for her teaching role at the ILC. She understands what it is like to be an international student away from home and family, and makes sure our international students get the most out of their New Zealand experience.
She loves nothing more than to be in the classroom, creating new opportunities for learning in fun and interesting ways.
Megan is trilingual and thrives on learning new languages. Her main loves in life are travel, international cuisine, mountain biking, music and photography.
Jools has had 15 years experience as an ESOL teacher and has taught both overseas and in New Zealand in a number of large language schools before taking on the role at the ILC.
She has taught all levels and a wide variety of nationalities.
She loves people, travel, skiing, different cultures and music.
“I have an excellent knowledge of my trade, which I am very passionate about and enjoy. I have the ability to provide a relaxed, fun, vibrant and effective learning environment.”
Claire has been the manager and administrator at the ILC for the last five years. Previous experience as a travel agent, caterer, early childhood worker, legal executive and mother has given her the contacts and life skills needed to ensure the smooth, efficient well organised transition of the international students into New Zealand and their host families.
Claire loves people, music and singing. She often hosts concerts at her home and is a member of the local choir.
Claire believes, if you’ve travelled yourself you know what a warm welcome can do for your experience and makes all of the students feel welcome, looked after and able to make the most of their time here.
