The Foundation

The Foundation is established as a charitable trust to under-write the future of Mount Aspiring College students through its commitment to excellence and innovation in education.

Mission: “We enhance educational opportunities for students of state schools in the Wanaka region by generating additional revenue and providing other resources to continually advance the schools’ programmes and facilities.”

Vision:  “We will be a highly respected and financially strong organisation representing state schools in the Wanaka region. We will have a major impact on the development of quality educational opportunities and take a leadership role in their funding.”

What We Have Done:

Mount Aspiring Village

In 1996 the Foundation built six villas on property it owns adjacent to the College. Five student villas each have three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge and fully equipped kitchen. The sixth villa is two supervisor residences, one two bedroom and one three bedroom. All villas have double garaging, landscaping and views overlooking the lake. See The Hostel.

The International Language Centre

The College has been the host for international students for many years, and in 1996 the Foundation built the Language Centre to provide the international programme its own identity and the ability to expand into general English and short course markets. The number of students has expanded steadily and this year we will have over 30 students from seven different countries. See the International Language Centre.
