Laura Ferguson Achieves Highest Mark In New Zealand

In 2007 our very own Laura Ferguson was awarded the highest grade in the country for her submission to Scholarship Graphics. Her work featured an innovative approach to the promotion of a fashion brand called “ADD” (Aotearoa Determined Designs).

Exploring Exciting Possibilities

Laura began by exploring possibilities for a logo for her business and extended the logo ideas in designing the shapes and images for business cards, clothing labels and swing-tags. She borrowed a range of fashion clothing from a Wanaka boutique and enlisted a group of friends to model them in two photo-shoots, one studio based and one linking her designs to the spectacular local environment. Laura used these photographs to design and produce a catalogue for her collection and promotional posters.

Trans Dimensional Design

In a strong imaginative leap, she applied the shapes from her logo to design three-dimensional elements for the design of a boutique to sell her clothing range. These designs included window display fittings and shop furniture.

Adding To Her Qualifications

Laura is currently investigating tertiary design courses with a view to studying for a degree in Design.
